Benchmark Abrasives 5″ CeramicResin Fiber Discs are made by electrostatically depositing grains of Aluminum Oxide on heavy-duty vulcanized fiber backing with heat-resistant phenolic resins. These discs are resistant to heat, glazing, and loading, and are excellent on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. We offer these discs in 6 sizes: 4″, 4-1/2″, 5″, 6″, 7″, 9 1/8″ and a grit range from 24 grit to 120 grit. For use on all right-angle grinders.

These resin fiber discs are designed for the toughest applications and can be used on metal, wood, fiberglass, plastics & composites. The vulcanized fiber backing gives strong support for the grain & helps transfer the pressure to the workpiece for maximum stock removal. Ceramic resin fiber grinding discs are best for cool, rapid stock removal on all heat sensitive metals including stainless steel and high nickel alloys. Prevents discoloration. Ceramic grains are tougher than aluminum oxide and are self-sharpening. It is formed in a process where alumina gel is dried and then crushed. These engineered crystals fracture and refracture at fine levels, to form a smooth, self-sharpening abrasive material.

Ceramic grains micro fracture to allow a continuous supply of the sharpest cutting edges. It’s also self-cooling which makes it great for stainless steel and high alloy materials. The lower grits hog up metal for lightning-fast stock removal and the longest cutting life available.
