What It is:
A ready‑to‑use weed‑killing gel that you dab directly onto the weed.It contains **metsulfuron‑methyl**, which is great for tough woody weeds and plants like Ginger, Privet, Gorse, Broom, and Agapanthus.
Why Gardeners like it:
– No spraying.
– No mixing.
– No drift onto your good plants.
– Very little product needed.
– Bright green so you can see where you’ve applied it.
– Good option if you want to avoid glyphosate.
How to Use It:
1. For cut stems or stumps.
– Cut the weed near the ground.
– Immediately squeeze a thin layer of gel over the whole cut surface.
– The plant will slowly die over a few months.
– If anything grows back, just reapply.
2. For leafy weeds.
– Lift a leaf and expose the underside.
– Brush a little gel onto the underside.
– The plant will stop growing and die over 3–6 months.
What It Works On:
Great for:
– Privet.
– Buckthorn.
– Wild Ginger.
– Arum lilies.
– Agapanthus.
– Gorse.
– Broom.
Not Good For:
– Tobacco weed.
– Datura (and other solanaceae plants).
Things To Keep in Mind:
– Don’t use it in the rain or if rain is expected within 12–18 hours.
– Keep it away from children and pets.
– Avoid spilling it on the soil—metsulfuron can move through soil water and affect nearby plants.
– Only a tiny amount is needed, so apply carefully.
How Long Does It Take to Work:
– Absorbs in a few hours in warm weather.
– Can take a few days in cool or damp conditions.
